Release the Brakes

What do we mean by Release the Brakes? You may instead say:

  • Step Out of your Comfort Zone
  • Get Yourself out of the way
  • Chang to a Right Mindset
  • Remove obstacles
  • Overcome self-sabotage

Essentially meaning to change behaviours. I hear you, ‘Easier said than done’ you say. Jack Canfield takes you through the following steps:

  1. First step is Raise Awareness
  2. Second step is Influence Attitudes and then
  3. Final step is Change Behaviours.

As Einstein stated “The significant problems we face cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them”.

Personally, I find, generally, I am well aware of my awareness to what I need to improve on; what I need to release the brakes on. For me, it is about the final step, changing behaviours. The best way I find I achieve this is to include a step into my normal daily routine. That way I’m not overwhelmed by having to achieve the whole goal but just one step each day.

For example, I have in my daily routine to do a 20 minute yoga routine and aiming for 5 per week. But because it is in my daily routine, I often achieve this and many times exceed it too! I talk about daily routines and habits more here.

Which step is relevant for you for your current goals(s)?
